It’s gratitude season, and our Youth Advisory Council of young people from across the country is at the top of our thankful list.  We believe that reimagining education for the modern world has to happen with students at the table, and our incredible council members have no shortage of innovative ideas.

At this fall’s Aurora Institute Symposium, Aanika, Donelle, and Sabbi amplified their research on more equitable grading policies, flexible scheduling, and ways to support active learning, along with input from their peers.

Presenting at a major national conference full of policy makers and leaders while still in high school? No big deal to these leaders in their own right, who inspired our audience with compelling questions like, “Can flexible scheduling create the conditions for student agency?” and made connections to their ground-level experiences.
